Episode #16: Maria Cabuenos- Murdered (1997) & Julie Barnyock- Murdered (1993)

Two women murdered with striking similarities. Could it be the work of a single killer or is it just a coincidence?


Maria Cabuenos

Birth: 1972 - Death: 3/15/1997

Ethnicity: Filipino- Sex: Female

Height: Unknown - Weight: Unknown

Hair Color: Gray - Eye Color: Unknown

Hometown: Philadelphia (Philadelphia County)


Crime Scene: Maria's skeletal remains were found in the woods of Tinicum Township, just 100 yards off of Beaver Run Rad. However its unclear if she was killed there or if this was a secondary crime scene. Beside her body was a fingernail, but was not enough skin under it to test for DNA.


Last Known Location Alive: Her residence in Philadelphia.


Injury Description: Maria was identified by her teeth and a ring on the finger which had her nickname on it. Her remains indicated that she died of blunt force trauma to the head. The authorities couldn’t confirm if she was sexually assaulted.


Suspect Description: Unknown


Additional Information: Possibly linked to convicted killer Arthur Bomar. Arthur is currently serving a life sentence for murdering a man over a parking spot in 1978.

Julie Barnyock

Birth: - Death: 11/8/1993

Ethnicity: Caucasian - Sex: Female

Height: Unknown - Weight: Unknown

Hair Color: Gray - Eye Color: Unknown

Hometown: New Britain Township (Bucks County)


Crime Scene: Landsdale SETPA/CONRAIL Freight Yard just 50 yards from the platform.


Last Known Location Alive: Landsdale Train Station, Philadelphia around 12:20AM on Monday, November 8th, 1993.


Injury Description: At the time of discovery, Julie's body was in active decay. She was found naked from the waist down and sexual assault is a possibility, however no DNA was found. Julie's cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma to the head.


Suspect Description: A man seen talking to Julie on the platform prior to her disappearance is wanted for questioning. He is described as a Caucasian man in his 20's. There was not enough information available to provide a sketch.
